Outta Tha Wood and into the fire, this hip-hop duo (produced by 5th Battalion) is here to bare witness to the ills of coming up in Inglewood, California. Gangs, shoot-outs, homicide, drugs, poverty and crooked cops are the tainted air and cracked cement of O.T.W.’s world. Where most fall victim to the system or to the streets, O.T.W. maintains on a plane of artistic expression. In a community where Destiny most often dresses in a black cloak accessorized only by a sickly sharpened scythe, there are too few who dare to dream of a future not buried six feet under. O.T.W. have done more than dare themselves to document the streets they know, they’ve dared their listeners to take in their sound, digest their lyrics and extend their support. O.T.W. believes that hip-hop is salvation, the way out of the gutter, and their self-proclaimed life mission. There is no glory in the innocence lost each day in the streets of tha Wood but there is none but too much honor in two emcees who believe even the shadows of society deserve their turn at the mic.
